Schramm,I could see doing that if it were only for one or two bikes, But I have 5, and the new ones like my crf250R, the tank/radiator plates are a split up design that would be way easier with a simple template. Number plates are no problem other than I like the look when the outer 1/4 of an inch of plastic is exposed, i also think this would be beneficial to prevent pealing from tree branches etc.But on that same note. The last Graphics kit I ordered, the vinyl is monstrously thick and Printed not vinyled, and the tank decals were perforated with little round holes, is there a supplier for these or are they making their own. I have heard that the tank graphics have to have a Gas resistant adhesive, since plastic tanks will bleed through. I have made my own in Corel. Take measurments and draw it, then cut the material needed.
You can make the background oversized for say the front plate and put it over it and trim it and then place the numbers or what ever in the spot as needed and sized to fit. I dont think everything needs a template just some thinking outside the box!if i was doing these to sell i would set down and do the drawing.but its not really that important for 2 bikes.i pulled the stock decals off painted them black, scanned them, traced them.(dont know if you need to paint them or not,but its what i did)if it didnt take so long to create them from scratch i would just do that.
