Viscount Class Star Defender

After seeing The Last Jedi and realizing that I both like and dislike the 'new' MC-85 Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Raddus, I've decided to do my own take on it and redesign the class while incorporating the overall hull shape of the Viscount-class Star Defender from EU/Legends. It's interesting in that their armament layouts are nearly identical - the Executor-class carries more concussion missile tubes, but the Viscount-class carries many more ion cannon. This may reflect the fact that the Executor was never expected to engage similarly-sized vessels in large numbers and could make better use of missiles capable of tracking smaller (though still cruiser-sized) hulls. The Viscount-class, on the other hand, was built to engage other dreadnoughts and needed more shield-breaking capability. My general suspicion is that the Viscount is the sturdier hull.

It's simply newer and was explicitly built to counter the threat posed by large dreadnoughts like the Executor; the shields are explicitly noted as making use of Mon Calamari shielding technology.Starfighter-wise, the Viscount allegedly carries far fewer ('hundreds') but has room for smaller escort vessels to be carried aboard. The Executor, however, has much more room for starfighters (its escort was presumably intended to make it on its own). Discounting the escort vessels, the Executor's starfighter wing is superior; including it, the Viscount probably has the better layout. Since 144 is noted as the 'minimum', I'd suggest that number is the hull's - the Starfighters automatically assigned by Imperial doctrine to a dreadnought-type hull.

For logistics and organization purposes, further starfighters would be noted as independent units on attachment to an Executor-class.This is probably because dreadnoughts were so rare compared to the legions of smaller hulls that it was easier to note attachment of independent starfighter wings than invent an entirely unique arrangement for the Executors. Viscounts win both from what I remember.Mon Cal ships are better pound-for-pound than an ISD because they have stronger shielding and better damage control. Additionally, Viscounts are more massive than an Executor-class.For round 2 (assuming the 'standard compliments' from Wookpedia) it becomes even more unbalanced because each Alliance fightercraft far outclass Sienar-spam, particularly in an anti-ship role. If each Executor is loaded with an absurd number of strike craft like Blastboats or TIE Bombers, they might win, otherwise not.
