Like a dumb question or if its already been answered but i was just wondering if we could make characters on different servers or are we all stuck on one server like gw2 and such? If so is there anyways to change servers afterwards? Also, as mentioned before there is a 1 million gil cap on transferring gil so the impact on market exploitation would be minimal at best, even at 25k per tomb item you would not even be able to make more than 4 2 star items and then would have to sit on them for over a month and pray that prices don't get adjusted on your old server in order to make it actually worthwhile.
I have a question on changing servers. I've been looking into getting off the one I'm on due to a few bad bloods and drama I'm sick of dealing with (wont go into details but its gotten pretty bad and blacklisting hasn't helpped). I know Ima lose my house but that's not a big deal.
What is is I've read that you can only take 1mil with you when you go?If that is true, could you make extra characters and split the gill you have between them so they each have one mill or less? And stash 100k on each retainer? I have five friends already who's wanting to leave with me and we could each be the others go between for gill splitting if such a method would allow us to bring most our gill with us to start fresh. Omer klein trio covers. We plan to start our own FC and get a FC house, (we found a server with plenty of empty plots still) but would like the gill to you know. Get it going.So is this doable?.
Depending on the server you're transferring to, you could end up making money by purchasing items that are cheaper on your current server and reselling them on the new one. I'm not sure where you are thinking of going, but you can probably create a character on that server first to scout out price differences. If you're transferring to one of the ultra-high pop servers (Balmung or Gilgamesh), where this may not be an option, let me save you a little time. Just buy lots of dye (Black or White) and glamour gems.
Or relic items. Those sell like hotcakes, and everything else is probably cheaper on those servers anyhow. Scout the market on the destination server so you can buy low on your current server, and sell high at the destination. Another option would be to buy things that you sell to vendors; Allagan pieces, clear demimateria, etc. I used to put that stuff up for nearly twice it's vendor value and see people buy it, presumably for this purpose, but I got out of that market because it would happen often enough that people would sell those items at the vendor sale value. The benefit to items you can vendor is that you get your gil back immediately rather than having to wait for crafting mats to sell on the market. That be great.For a list for price checks:Grade V's.
Over here Aims are 500k, Might is 490k, Gathering is 590k. There the only high ones, the rest is between 300k and 60k.Glam armors as well, Company Tabard is going for 90k to 190k. The Survival shirt is 400k, Moonfire Vest is 676k/500k. Wind Silk Coatee is 600k. Most the other chest glam items are between 200k and 90k.Then housing items but don't know how the matrket is for selling them.

The new wood bridge is selling for 1.6mill over here. Large pond is 600k, the new Oriental deck is 400k, and the grass 900k.Man, my only sad thing about moving servers is I finally giot a house of my own, and will be removing it for the move.
