Microsoft Solitaire Collection Not Working
RECOMMENDED:Microsoft Solitaire has been part of Windows operating system for over 25 years and is probably one of the most played PCs games ever. While Microsoft has done away with the classic Solitaire game in Windows 10 (see how to ), modern version of Microsoft Solitaire Collection offered in Windows 10 is equally good. The Microsoft Solitaire Collection game in Windows 10 includes a total of five different card games: Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, TriPeaks, and Pyramid. If you are experiencing issues with one of the games of Solitaire Collection or if Microsoft Solitaire Collection is not opening in Windows 10, you can reinstall Microsoft Solitaire Collection game to address the issue. Reinstalling Solitaire Collection game in Windows 10Reinstalling Microsoft Solitaire Collection is not an easy job as the game can’t be uninstalled like other third-party apps. Since it’s part of the default apps in Windows 10, the game can only be uninstalled either via Command Prompt or third-party program. That said, you can reinstall Microsoft Solitaire Collection game in just five minutes.Following are the two methods to reinstall Microsoft Solitaire Collection game in Windows 10.Tip: Before reinstalling, you can try to resolve the issue. Reinstall Microsoft Solitaire Collection using Command PromptStep 1: Open Windows PowerShell as administrator.
Reset Microsoft Solitaire Collection. If the troubleshooter does not solve the problem and the Microsoft Solitaire Collection app is still not working correctly, reset it. Select the 'App settings' option from the contextual menu. Scroll down to find the 'Reset' button and click it.
To do so, type Windows PowerShell in Start menu or taskbar search box to see Windows PowerShell in search results, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then click Run as administrator option.Step 2: In the PowerShell, type the following command and then press Enter key. You can also simply copy and paste the command. No need to type.Get-AppxPackage.solitairecollection.
Remove-AppxPackageAfter entering the command, press Enter key to uninstall and remove Microsoft Solitaire Collection from your Windows 10 PC. Tried the two methods. The first (Powershell command) returned the message:Remove-AppxPackage: Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073CF6, Kan ikke registrere pakken. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80073CF6)NOTE: For additional information, look for ActivityId c0ba696f-b412-0000-267c-bac012b4d101 in the Event Log or use the command line Get-AppxLog -ActivityID c0ba696f-b412-0000-267c-bac012b4d101At line:1 char:41+ Get-AppxPackage.solitairecollection.
Remove-AppxPackage+ + CategoryInfo: WriteError: (Microsoft.Micro8wekyb3d8bbwe:String) Remove-AppxPackage, IOException+ FullyQualifiedErrorId: DeploymentError,Microsoft.Windows.Appx.PackageManager.Commands.RemoveAppxPackageCommandThe second method (CCleaner). Seems to remove the solitaire collection, but when I close and open CCleaner, the collection appears again. MS Store, reports that the collection is still installed, and will not reinstall.Regards.

I've had my fair share of issues with Windows 10 and now I have another and need some help.I was exploring Windows 10 tonight for the first time and noticed that in the Application list off the Start Menu it shows that I have Microsoft Solitaire Collection installed. Although I didn't install this app myself I assumed that it came as part ofthe Windows 10 install. When I launch the app it displays a splash screen for the app momentarily then the window closes. I have checked task manager and I don't see the app running so there must be some issue with the way the program is installed so I thoughtperhaps the best thing to do is to remove it and then reinstall it. I went into Control Panel and checked the Installed applications and could not find an entry for it in the list.
I went out to the Store and I can find the app and it tells me that it'scurrently installed but doesn't seem to provide a means to remove the app or reinstall it. Can anyone tell me how to fix the app or remove it from Windows 10 so I can reinstall it? Hi,Welcome to Microsoft Community. Hi,Welcome to Microsoft Community. Vijaya,Thanks for the reply.Unfortunately, my problem has turned out to be a bit bigger than an issue with Solitaire. I had a similar post on several other forums and someone sent me a reply and asked why I simply had not right clicked on the app and selected uninstall. To make along story short, it seems that the context menus displayed when right-clicking any app, Microsoft or installed by me, only show one option - 'Pin to Start'.
For example if I right click on CCleaner which is installed on my PC there's no option to uninstallthe app like there's supposed to be. Uninstalling the app and reinstalling it has no bearing on the behavior which I stated previously is on consistent on all installed applications. In addition to the above I have what I believe is a related issue. If I search for an application such as Powershell from the search dialog app on the task bar, the application is shown in the search result list.
If I right click on the application shownon the list, the context menu only shows one option - 'Pin to Start' not the other options such as 'Run as an Administrator'.Note that neither of these context menu problems prevents you from doing things elsewhere. For example I uninstalled CCleaner by going to control panel and doing it there. Regarding Powershell I drilled down into the Powershell folder and right clickedon the Powershell.exe and that context menu displayed the 'Run as an Administrator' option. So, for now my big concern is trying to find a solution to the above issues. If you or someone else knows how to fix these issues I'd really appreciate a solution as I may be faced with reinstalling Windows 10 which is something that I do not want to dounless it becomes absolutely necessary. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Vijaya,Thanks for the reply.Unfortunately, my problem has turned out to be a bit bigger than an issue with Solitaire.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.I never did get a reply to this post and I never found a solution that would fix this issue and this issue was probably the root cause of my initial question regarding the removal of solitaire. My 'solution' was to completely reset Windows 10, which removedeverything on my HD and put down a new version of Windows 10. In some respects I would have liked to have found a solution for this issue but in the end I think that I'll be better off as I now have a completely fresh OS and all of the 'junk' that been onmy system for the last 6 years is now gone. I have the same problem, except I ran Solitaire for weeks and then suddenly one day it stopped working. Identical description of the problem in that it loads the splash screen and then runs the little Win 10 circle and then the window closes.I thought I might actually pay for the upgrade, but I can't even do that since it won't load.
Any help!!!This is an older post I found when searching for an answer to this exact question. I have Win 10 update from Win 8.1 on my Surface Pro 3, and lost the ability to open Solitaire after having been able to play with it for some time.I corrected the problem by going to the Microsoft Store, checking on the Microsoft Solitaire App, which indicated I needed to 'Update' my already installed App. I did the update, and now the program opens and works.Hope this will work for others with a similar problem. Microsoft windows 10 solitaire issued fixed.Hi all i have been having the same issues with MS solitaire on windows 10.Try's to open then shuts down. I have read all these posts and tried all the so called fixes.
They don't work. This is not really a quick fix but it has worked for me, please only try this a a last resort and at your own risk.It is basically going to reset your version of windows 10, back to its original install. This will not move or touch your documents or pictures but should resolve your MS solitaire issue. Before you read on this will reset all of your drivers and apps, you will have to reinstall some of your system drivers and most of the apps that were installed after you updated your system. Also found that it removed my office 2010 install, but once mycard games were up and running and i was happy i just put back what i needed. Here goes. This is going to take you a couple of hours and I state that you do so at your own risk.step 1. Move your mouse/pointer down to the system tray notification area, and click on icon that looks like a piece of paper.step 2. Action center is now open, select 'all settings icon'step 3. Select the 'update & security'step 4. Select the 'recovery' tab from the left hand side.step 5.
Reset Microsoft Solitaire Collection
Select the option to 'reset this PC' there will be a 'get started' button underneath this option.step 6. At this point it will give you two options, i choose to 'keep my files' option. This will then reload windows 10 back to its original state and MS solitaire should now work. This will only be as quick as your computer and internet connection. Mine took about 30 minutes. And another 1.5 hours to reload all of stuff it took off, printer, office package, apps and drivers. If you wish to try this i hope it works for you, i am now enjoying my card games once again.
